Moving large, dense loads reliably requires more than a standard forklift. Ports, steel mills, container depots, mining operations, timber yards and heavy manufacturing plants all depend on machines with the lifting capacity, power and operator control to handle substantial loads safely.
Criterion Equipment’s TCM range addresses this directly: seven diesel forklift models with rated capacities from 12 000 kg to 23 000 kg.
The TCM Forklift Lineup: Two Capacity Classes
The TCM FD120-3, FD135-3, FD150S-3 and FD160S-3 models cover the 12–16-tonne class, rated at a 600 mm load centre. The FD180-2, FD200-2 and FD230-2 models extend capacity from 18 000 kg to 23 000 kg at a 900 mm load centre.
Engine and Transmission Specs
The 12, 13.5, 15 and 16-tonne trucks run a turbocharged ISUZU 6BG1T six-cylinder diesel engine, rated at 114 kW (155 PS) at 2 000 r/min, with 537 Nm of torque at 1 800 r/min. Power goes through a TCM three-speed automatic powershift transmission with three forward and three reverse speeds.
The 18, 20 and 23-tonne models use the same ISUZU 6BG1T engine platform rated higher, at 125 kW (170 PS) at 2 200 r/min, with 537 Nm of torque at 1 800 r/min. Their three-speed automatic power-shift transmission adds a finger-touch shift lever and selectable power or economy drive modes.
Maximum drawbar pull on the FD180-2, FD200-2 and FD230-2 is 119 kN, with gradeability of 20% at 1.6 km/h — built for steep inclines under heavy loads.
Drivability and Mast Options
Operators choose between power and economy mode depending on the task. The transmission supports first-speed, second-speed or automatic shifting, and top travel speed across the range is 34 km/h.
A wide-view mast and full hydrostatic power steering are standard. Standard mast height reaches 3 000 mm; optional high-mast configurations extend to 6 000 mm, with load capacity at height depending on model and mast configuration.
Operator Comfort and Safety
Standard features include an overhead guard, adjustable suspension seat with seat belt, tilt-adjustable steering column, and rear-view and under-view mirrors. The integrated instrument panel displays travel speed, fuel level, engine temperature and operating hours, with warning indicators for engine, brakes, transmission and air cleaner conditions.
A wet-disc parking brake built into the transmission, plus a standard air dryer on the brake line, reduces routine maintenance and protects against brake-line freezing in cold conditions.
Safety extras include a back-up buzzer, electric horn, headlights, front turn signals, rear combination lights and reflectors.
An optional pillar-less cabin improves front visibility by 10% over conventional designs. A multi-functional suspension seat, integrated instrument panel and electric parking brake round out operator comfort.
Optional Equipment
Pneumatic tyres and front dual drive wheels come standard. Beyond that, the range can be configured with:
- Hydraulic or manual fork positioners
- Side-shifting devices
- Fork-extension sleeves and long forks
- High masts
- Steel cabin, air-conditioning, heater and de-mister
- Exhaust-purifying silencer
- Manual central greasing system
Why the TCM Range Matters
Combining two engine output ratings, automatic transmission and a wide standard/optional equipment list means each TCM forklift can be configured to match a specific load, lift height and working environment — rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all machine onto a specialised job.
Maintenance and Safety
Criterion Equipment treats safe forklift operation as a core part of materials handling across manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, construction and transport sites. The company recommends a regular in-house maintenance programme, including daily checks, to keep trucks safe, minimise downtime and extend service life.
